Children’s Services is recruiting!
After a very long time of total stability, and for all the right reasons – promotion, secondments, retirement, maternity leave - the Children’s Services Department has vacancies in our frontline services at Manager, Principal Social Worker, Senior Social Worker and Social Worker levels.

Referral and Assessment Service and Child in Need (of care and protection) – you will be undertaking the full range of statutory social work, with very manageable and protected caseloads. For more information on this role and to apply
SUPERVISING SOCIAL WORKERS - Fostering Team.
You will support a manageable caseload of foster carers and recruiting, assessing, supervising and training foster carers. This includes promoting the professional service for foster carers with the aim of achieving improved outcomes for Children Looked After in line with National Minimum Standards and Guidance. PRINCIPAL SOCIAL WORKERS (Assistant Team Managers)
Child in Need (of care and protection) Teams – holding a reduced caseload you will assist with management tasks and provide support and supervision to other members of the team, including practice teaching and chairing multi-agency meetings. For more information on this role and to apply
Children Looked After Teams – holding a reduced caseload you will also provide supervision and support to other members of staff. You will need to be confident in court work and have a proven track record of providing a high quality service and achieving permanence for Children Looked After. TEAM MANAGERS - Child in Need (of care and protection) Service – you will be responsible for the management and supervision of a locality team of 5 fte social workers, supported by a Principal Social Worker and Consultant Social worker, undertaking child in need, child protection and care proceedings work. One maternity cover (minimum 1 year) - Family Centre - A challenging opportunity for an experienced social work manager to lead a team through a period of change. This is a temporary vacancy, to cover maternity leave from December 2013 for a minimum of a year. The centre (judged outstanding by OFSTED) undertakes residential and community-based parenting assessments and interventions, with families approaching or subject to court proceedings.
